Paola Cortés

(Born in Tijuana, México,1982)

As a visual artist with a love for architecture and an unapologetic thrifter at heart, I naturally fell into the path of designing sets very early on in life, high school, to be exact.

I am ever observant of human behavior so, when creating a set, I try to put myself into each character's shoes in order to imagine what their surroundings would be like based on both research and the inspiration I take from my daily observations.

In 2003 I designed my first formal set for an international level presentation of the Ópera “Pagliacci” presented in Tijuana’s premier theatre (CECUT), at the early age of 21.

In 2007, (25) I was invited into the film world as a Production Designer/ Art Director.

Since then, I have participated in numerous projects and delivered in a broad variety of ways within the art department, as Production Designer, Art Director, Decorator, Sculptor and Scenic Artist, I enjoy every role.

In 2015, a love story brought me to Central Texas where I have spent time balancing work, primarily as Production Designer in commercials and raising a family.

Find me in IMDB as Paola Cortés.
